University of Washington, Seattle

Welcome to the Global Brigades Water Chapter!

Want an opportunity to help save lives? This is your chance to make a difference and give people a clean and sufficient amount of water. Every day 4,900 children die due to the fatal combination of unclean water and inadequate sanitation. More than 1 in 6 people worldwide do not have access to enough clean water for their basic drinking, cooking, and cleaning needs. That is more than 1.1 billion people who do not have access to safe water.

Water Brigades at the University of Washington will be designing and implementing water systems to prevent communicable illness in communities with limited access to clean water. For every Water Brigades volunteer, 3.9 community members will be provided with access to clean sufficient water.

Honduras is the current focus. Our team will be going the week after Spring quarter and before Summer Quarter, June 10th through the 17th 2012.

Come to the info sessions and our tables at Red Square to join the Water Brigades!
